Getting Started with ArenaDocs

Welcome to ArenaDocs! This guide will help you get up and running quickly.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  1. Microsoft Word - Microsoft 365 subscription (web or desktop)
  2. ArenaDocs Add-in - Installed by your organization's IT administrator
  3. Login Credentials - Your organizational email address

Logging In

  1. Open Microsoft Word and create or open a document
  2. Launch ArenaDocs from the Add-ins ribbon or Home tab
  3. Click "Login" on the welcome screen
  4. Authenticate using your organizational email
  5. Grant permissions if prompted

Tip: ArenaDocs uses your email domain to automatically connect you to your organization's clause library and templates.

Interface Overview

After logging in, you'll see three main tabs:

Chat Tab

The Chat tab is your conversational interface for:

  • Asking questions about your document
  • Getting AI-powered insights with citations
  • Making inline edits using Edit Mode

Draft Tab

The Draft tab helps you:

  • Generate new clauses from descriptions
  • Create complete documents
  • Browse your organization's clause library

Review Tab

The Review tab enables:

  • Comprehensive document reviews
  • Template comparisons
  • Issue identification and resolution

Your First Document Review

Let's run your first AI-powered document review:

Step 1: Open a Document

Open any contract or legal document in Microsoft Word.

Step 2: Navigate to Review Tab

Click on the Review tab in the ArenaDocs panel.

Step 3: Select Document Type

Choose the appropriate document type from the dropdown:

  • Sponsorship Agreement
  • Vendor Agreement
  • Event Agreement
  • Hotel Agreement
  • And more...

Step 4: Run Review

Click "Run Review" to start the AI analysis.

Note: Reviews typically take 30-60 seconds depending on document length.

Step 5: Review Results

The AI will identify issues organized by severity:

LowMinor improvement opportunity

Step 6: Navigate to Issues

Click "Go to Issue" to jump directly to the problematic section in your document.

Step 7: Fix Issues

Click "Open in Edit Mode" to switch to the Chat tab with the fix pre-loaded.


Your First Clause Draft

Generate your first AI-powered clause:

Step 1: Navigate to Draft Tab

Click on the Draft tab in the ArenaDocs panel.

Step 2: Select "Draft New Clause"

Choose the option to draft a new clause.

Step 3: Describe Your Clause

Enter a natural language description of what you need:

Payment terms requiring 30-day payment window with 
2% monthly late fee and right to suspend services 
after 60 days of non-payment

Step 4: Generate Options

Click "Generate" to receive 4 different clause options.

Step 5: Review Sources

Each option shows which templates influenced the language, helping you understand the basis for the generated text.

Step 6: Insert Clause

Select your preferred option and click "Insert" to add it to your document.

Tip: Enable "Track Changes" before inserting to maintain an audit trail.


Your First Inline Edit

Use Edit Mode to make AI-powered changes:

Step 1: Navigate to Chat Tab

Click on the Chat tab in the ArenaDocs panel.

Step 2: Enable Edit Mode

Toggle "Edit Mode" at the bottom of the chat interface.

Step 3: Select Text

In your Word document, select the text you want to modify.

Step 4: Describe Changes

In the chat input, describe what changes you want:

Make this clause more protective of our intellectual 
property rights and add a provision for audit rights

Step 5: Review Redline

ArenaDocs will show a redline preview comparing the original and revised text.

Step 6: Accept or Reject

  • Click "Accept" to apply the changes
  • Click "Reject" to cancel
  • Enable "Track Changes" option for audit trails
